While any time is a good time to visit Coronado, a resort island community across the bay from downtown San Diego, sunset time is when it looks best, in my opinion.
This is a view towards west (Point Loma) from a beachside street near Hotel del Coronado.
To achieve a fresh and luminous look, I worked from a limited palette of 6-8 colors and tried to apply as few brushstrokes as possible. This way I was able to work fast to finish this painting in a relatively short time -- before overworking it, which is so easy to do.
