The Santa Fe Depot was opened in 1915. It still is a busy hub for Amtrak and other local commuter trains.
Its Spanish mission-style architecture shines like a jewel here in downtown San Diego. When I saw it, I felt it must be one of the most beautiful train stations! But to paint it with modern-day high rises as a backdrop, I knew, would be a challenge. I hope I was able to capture a sense of this place.
