Cadaqués, Spain I, Spanish Landscape Painting

To paint this lovely whitewashed village on the Costa Brava, I asked myself, what could be a better medium than watercolor?  (Yes, I have to admit watercolor is the only thing I know a little of).  I didn't need a lot of paint colors but squeezed plenty of cobalt blue on my palette and a few others to get started.  Working from the top in wet-in-wet, making sure to cut around the white of the paper, employing a variety of brush strokes here and there, I re-created my memory of a fun summer day in Cadaqués.
