Lyon, France VII, French Landscape Painting

Lyon, France VII

This is the same street as the one in yesterday's painting.   In fact, it's the same bistro with a yellow awning but is only viewed from the opposite side in this painting.  Again, what I tried to do here is to depict the twilight moment on a city street.

This alley is in the historic Old Lyon.  When people start thinking about dinner, bright lights start illuminating inside and outside of small eateries that line from one end of the street to the other.  Many of these places call themselves "bouchons," a casual restaurant that serves traditional dishes from Lyon at a reasonable price.   Everything on the menu looks good, from appetizers to entrees to cheeses and desserts... I know any choice would be a good choice.  Lyon is the gastronomical capital of France after all.
