San Diego 100 (#77) - Rainy Day, California Landscape Painting

Rainy Day (SD100-77)
Rainy Day (SD100-77)

When children start thinking about what to wear for Halloween, we know we will soon have the first rainy day in a long time in San Diego.  It will be the official start of our rainy season, which will last until spring comes.  But this only means we will keep our umbrella in our car "just in case" because it is only a little wetter than the rest of the year.

After months of almost no rain, it is always a big surprise when we actually have a wet day sometime in October or November.  And we have to look for an umbrella that has been left forgotten somewhere in our garage.  This painting shows children coming out of classrooms at the end of a school day, to smell that fresh after-the-rain smell and, for some, to run around in the puddles.

Hello Keiko, love your painting techniques and style of painting and subjects, especially the ones like this one where you capture the reflections so very well.one can almost feel the splash of water. Its something i'm trying very hard to master.
I also love snowscapes.and yours take some beating in my humble opinion.
i'm persevering in getting back to w/c painting after a lapse of 16 years.
Your extensive blog/website is by far the best and easiest art one to view.Thankyou from Derek Mallett,Somerset,West of England,UK.
