Torrey Pines Beach, San Diego VI
Land, water, sky... When I visit the Torrey Pines State Beach, I am struck by an intimate interaction of the three on many occasions.
Surfers and beachgoers seem to be careful not to disturb the harmony of the three permanent residents who claim this beach.
I hear the soothing music the three play together. In fact, they look to me as one thing. So that's how I painted this coastal scene... land, water and sky as one melodious, flowing entity.
I recently painted a few more pieces of this favorite beach of mine, that are included in my San Diego 100 series. Please click to see San Diego 100 (#45) and San Diego 100 (#29).

Fluidness, subdued colors and gentle, soft shapes, contrasted against dark focal points; these are components that come to mind when I see your work.
I wish you all the best in your upcoming venues.
