They are dressed impeccably in white shirts and dark vests. Waiters in crowded Parisian cafés move briskly from table to table. But when its not so busy, we may see them chatting with one of the regulars who lingers or taking a little break, as in this painting. It's been more than a year since smoking was banned in restaurants and cafes in France. So the sight like this may be more common as smokers can only light up outside.
