I painted this harbor scene of a small fishing village called Cassis last year. Situated on the Mediterranean coast, Cassis is crowded with vacationers, especially in summer, who flock here for the sun, great sea food and wine. But the spectacular scenery of fjord-like rock formation in the area between here and Marseille is what makes this little village more famous and popular.
Under the bright sun, the dominant color here in the south of France is blue. But it is not just the sky and the ocean that are blue. There is something else. I blogged about it some time ago. Please
