Lyon, France III, French Landscape Painting

Lyon, France III

Lyon, the second-largest city in France, has it all -- in addition to all the conveniences a big city can offer, there is history (its historic old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site), plenty of parks, gardens, good weather, excellent schools, easy access to both mountains and beaches (thanks to TGV), and exceptional food and wine (don't forget a reservation at Paul Bocuse in Pont de Collonges near Lyon).

This is one of the city's streets with the Notre-Dame de Fouviere on top of a hill.

"Life is too short for cuisine minceur and for diets.  Dietetic meals are like an opera without the orchestra." - Paul Bocuse, one of the top chefs of modern French cuisine.

Hello,

I am very impress from your artwork. I used to live in Lyon, France; and you well represented the landscapes. The notion of distance with "fourviere" is quite impressing.

The idea of representing landscapes from different cultures is an amazing idea which I really enjoy.

Dear Hugo, thank you very much for your kind comment. I visited Lyon several times and loved it immensely. Coming from someone who actually lived there, your words mean a lot to me. I hope you enjoyed other paintings of Lyon I have on my blog and website.
