Oceanside is a beachfront community in the north of San Diego.  Because of its proximity to Camp Pendleton (US Marine Corps Base), the downtown area has a certain feel as a military town.  But that image of Oceanside is only one-sided.

The city has great beaches, complete with a pier, and museums and is home to Mission San Luis Rey de Francia.  This beautiful harbor is a great place to relax, walk around, and watch sea birds and, of course, boats of all kinds.
